Indigenous Peoples Project
For the indigenous peoples
project, the students of Mrs. Banack's class each selected a group on which to
do independent research. After two weeks of taking notes from books and
on-lines sources, they wrote their information in the form of podcasts.

incredible work!
Norma is one of our Navajo experts. She recreated a Navajo bracelet and earrings for her artifacts.
Alessandra studied the Sioux Indians. She created a tipi for the Indigenous Museum.
Rawan studied the Aztecs. She made two tools for her artifacts: an ax and a hoe.
Daniela learned a lot about the Incas. Here she is displaying an Incan beer goblet.
Nicole is an expert on the Cheyenne. She created a traditional pot that is holding corn.
Delfina studied the Inuit. Her artifact has three parts: an igloo, typical clothing and a sled.
Juanfri worked hard learning about the Navajo. His artifact shows a typical home, called a hooghan.
Carlos learned all about the Seminoles. He made a replica of patchwork clothing for which the Seminole women are famous.
Norah is our expert on the Maasai. She created a model of a Maasai hut, called an Engei.
Danya researched the Cherokee. For the museum, she made replicas of jewelry and decorative beadwork.
Natasha learned a lot about the Maya. Her muesum piece showed many aspects of their culture, such as the Mayan calendar, a temple and clothing.
Carlos is one of our experts on the Inuit. His model shows replicas of the three different kinds of shelters the Inuit had.
Naif learned a lot about the Aztecs. His model shows a typical Aztec home.
Daniel learned all about the Blackfoot. He created a scene that included two types of tipis and food cooking over a fire.
