How does IT work?
The main objective of this project is to create an 8 page full color information booklet that clearly explains how a peripheral device works. The level of reading should be appropriate for an individual who has never heard of this topic. Your goal is that this reader will understand the topic completely after reading your information booklet. The booklet can be created with PageMaker, Publisher, or another desktop publishing application. You will include pictures, definition where necessary, and a list of resources where the reader could find out more information.  All sources must be cited using MLA format and quotes should be used for all direct citations.Use citationmachine or noodletools to create the bibliography.

How I.T. Works? Morgue Files

ePortfolio - Electronic Portfolio

Portfolios are used to communicate accomplishments, demonstrate growth through documentation of works in progress, or personal history. Designers, arts, teacher, business people, and professionals in all fields have used portfolios to showcase their work. Traditionally portfolios have been presented in large books or folders containing samples. However, since the rise of the Internet many people have gone digital with their portfolios. Electronic portfolios or ePortfolios can be posted on the Internet for people to access from anywhere in the world or burned to CD for easy distribution.

In this unit students will create their ePortfolio using Macromedia Fireworks to create the graphics user interface (GUI) and Dreamweaver to add the links, text content, and lay out the pages. Copyright restrictions will be closely followed and students should be careful to only use royalty free images. Using well thought out design techniques is important for this project and students are encouraged to use online turtorials to help them design Web 2.0 style graphics.
