Course Overview

The purpose of this course is for each student to learn ways to use technology to communicate effectively, choose appropriate technology to solve problems, and use information technology effectively in school and at home.  Course content will focus on interactive applications that will be set in a real world context. The syllabus may be adjusted to serve the individual needs of the students if appropriate.

Welcome to Google SketchUp!

Google Sketchup is a free application created by Google and marketed as an easy to use simplified yet powerful 3D modeling application. SketchUp is used by a wide variety of professionals from video game designers to architects to film makers. The design capabilities are very flexible and depending on the task you can create realistic models with lighting and texture or simple geometric models to communicate the concept you are thinking of. SketchUp models can also be integrated into GoogleEarth using the exact coordinate of the object.

Wednesday Nov 26	Use this template to complete a unit plan for the class of your choosing.  Your lesson plan must utilize Google Sketchup or another 3D modeling application.
Friday Nov 21	Continue work on your 3D modeling project. Watch this 3D animation and this 3D simulation. Brainstorm the wide variety of applications of 3D modeling software.  Email 10 to 15 different examples to the class before Friday at noon.
Friday Nov 14	Basic House Structure Due @ E.O.C. This includes the walls, doors, windowns, floors, roof, ect. The furniture is not due at this stage in the project.
Monday Nov 10	Pre-planning Due @ S.O.C.
