Half Adder

The logic circuits that perform addition within the Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) of the CPU are called adders. A unit that adds two binary digits is called the half adder and the one that adds together three binary digits is called a full adder. A half adder sums two binary digits to give a sum term (S), and a carry term (C), both being Boolean variables.
