A Greeting from Mrs. Lowman August 17, 2010 Dear ECA Class of 2011: Welcome back to school for your senior year! I trust that your vacation was stellar and that you are all full of positive resolve and happy energy as you begin this exciting year. Whether you are in my English A1 or A2 class, you will have a plethora of opportunities to improve your written and spoken English. I’ve added a few new texts this year, and I’m excited to see what you think of them. I have one main resolution for this school year: to help each and every one of you achieve at your own highest level. It isn’t all about SAT and IB scores, grades and college acceptances, though, of course, these concerns matter to you, and I want to help you attain your academic goals. But I also hope with all my heart that your experience in English class this year will enrich your understanding of other people and the world around you, that you will garner strength and insight from our literary discussions and activities, and that you will build memories that will last a lifetime during the next ten months. Please do not hesitate to talk to me about anything at all that is on your mind. Optimistically and affectionately,
Mrs. Lowman
