My name is Richard Sonnet and I am teaching Modern World History
and TOK this year at Escuela Campo Alegre. My teaching experience has
been at all levels, but the last twenty years, I have been teaching
social studies at the middle school and high school level. I have taught
in three states in the United States (Pennsylvania, Colorado and
Wyoming) and in seven countries prior to coming to Venezuela (Honduras,
Romania, Bangladesh, Malaysia, India, Morocco, and China). As my first
overseas experience was in Latin America, I feel like my new life in
Venezuela is like a coming home for me. As this is my
fourth year at ECA, I am aware of the tremendous potential of ECA
students and am confident we will accomplish much this year. Be prepared
for hard work, analysis of ideas and much discussion. Let's get started!
