Arrival of new teachers

On August 1, twenty-one new overseas hire teachers arrived in Caracas. They came from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. ECA administration and faculty welcomed them with the warmth usual in our school and provided them with the orientation they will need to make their time in Venezuela an enjoyable one. In the workshop sessions they learned about the culture of Venezuela, culture of the school, and the academic expectations. Later in the week, they were joined by six new faculty members from Venezuela. The total group worked on understanding the mission, vision, and curriculum expectations of the school. They also met the Support Services Staff and participated in briefings from the US Embassy. Of course, there were social events to expose the new faculty to the many social activities at the school and in Caracas.
