Our curriculum is standards-based following the philosophical belief that when outcomes are identified, enduring student understanding is the result. As well as offering the core subjects of math, science, language arts and social studies, we have a strong specialist curriculum in art, Spanish, media/ library skills, music, physical education. Additionally we offer English as a Second Language and a resource program that supports student academic achievement.
Every month we plan an Elementary Assembly designed to celebrate student learning and encourage a sense of identity. A broad array of activities and programs are offered in the After School Activity Program throughout the year. At the beginning of each academic year teachers identify goals that will encourage student participation in community service activities. All students participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the year that promote school and team spirit. There are many other activities that highlight student success: Science Olympiads, Mini Olympics, Student-led conferences, winter and spring musical productions and much more.
We believe a strong home/school partnership is the foundation for student success. This shared responsibility is the most important work we undertake as educators and parents.
