Wireless Mobile Labs

For the first time in the history of ECA, students will be experiencing the wonders of wireless and mobile technologies in their classroom to enhance their learning.
The Technology Department has purchased several laptops for students to use. These laptops can be checked out by teachers to use in their class. The laptops come with wireless cards so they can be used in any classroom with an Wireless Access Point to connect to the ECANET network. Each laptop is loaded with all the software that the student needs. The software list includes the entire MS Office 2003 pack, Inspiration, Macromedia MX Suite,  Internet Explorer and graphic / image tools. The labs are configured into three mobile carts. Each cart is equipped with several laptops, a projector and an additional wireless access point.
The technology department provides support and facilitate the booking and distribution of the laptops. Our maintenance crew is also an integral part of this program helping to move these mobile carts to the classrooms.
